About the Principal
Dr. L. Basavaraj completed his bachelor's degree from Bapuji Institute of Engineering and Technology, Davangere. He began his teaching career as a Lecturer in Electronics and Communication Engineering at STJIT, Ranibennur, for about three years. After completing his Master's in Digital Electronics at SDM College of Engineering, Dharwad in 1994, he joined Bapuji Institute of Engineering and Technology as a Lecturer in Electronics and Communication Engineering.
He later served at Vidya Vardhaka College of Engineering as Professor and Head of the Department of Electronics and Communication for about thirteen years. Since 1st February 2013, he has been serving as the Principal of this prestigious institute.
Apart from teaching and research, he is a regular speaker on domain-specific and engineering-related topics at conferences, pedagogical training programmes and workshops. His areas of interest are VLSI, Signal Processing and Bio-Medical Signal Processing.
He served as an academic senate member of VTU from 2019 to 2022 and is a life member of ISTE and CSE.
